Welsh fly line and tackle manufacturer Airflo has boosted its environmental efforts by backing the UK Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme initiative

The firm, which was acquired by US-based Mayfly Group – which owns Ross and Abel Reels –in 2019, wants to encourage its customers to recycle old fly lines rather than add them to the increasing problem of landfill.

Donald Cooke, the company with major fishing brands Rod Hutchinson & Bait-Tech within its portfolio, has been granted planning permission to expand its factory in Sheffield, England.
The new building will hold over 400 pallets for stocks of tackle and manufactured goods ready for sale and 60 tonnes of silo space for bulk ingredients. Construction was due to start in January.
