Tackle Trade World is sad to announce the passing of Len Borgström, the grandson of Abu Garcia founder Carl August Borgström, famed fishing reel pioneer and former company president, who died on July 15th at the age of 88.
The best-selling tackle brands in the USA last year have been revealed in an insightful report that has just been published. Big names like Shakespeare, Daiwa, Rapala, Berkley, Eagle Claw, Columbia and Plano were among those listed along with a couple of surprises in the survey of more than 9,000 anglers last year by specialist market research and economics firm Southwick Associates.
Shimano’s chairman emeritus, Mr Yoshizo Shimano – who led the company as president and then chairman from 1995 until 2012 – has passed away from chronic heart failure at the age of 85.
The award-winning Scandinavian tackle company Westin, based in Denmark, has signed well-known industry expert Thomas Wæver to its professional staff line up.
As of August 10th, Thomas will take up the role as Westin’s export manager.
