Westin strengthens its set up in UK

Award-winning Scandinavian tackle company Westin has appointed Thom Hunt as its agent for England and Wales.

Thom is a well-known face within the UK fishing scene and has been a long-time user of Westin gear, catching, many big fish using the Danish brand’s lures and wining countless competitions.

Westin’s export manager, Thomas Wæver, said: “Signing Thom is a scoop for Westin as he holds the full package; he is well known and highly respected angler, he knows the brand and products inside out and know most of the shops in his territory.

“Thom is a hard-working and extremely dedicated person who carries a history of sales and marketing in his luggage. I know we will hit the ground running and I look forward to be working with Thom for years to come and to grow the Westin brand even further in UK.”

It has been a strategic move for Westin to strengthen its sales force in the UK and it means Thom will cover England and Wales while long-serving agent Gareth Whittington will look after Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Thom said: “Having been with Westin as a sponsored angler for two years, I have first-hand knowledge of how high quality all the products are, so moving into a sales and marketing role is a perfect transition for me. The massive growth of the business in recent years, combined with still feeling like a family business is something I can’t wait to get involved in!”
