Svendsen Sport strengthens with brand manager

Theis Gronemann (left) has swapped fast cars for fishing tackle as he joins the team at Danish-based Svendsen Sport as international brand manager.

Theis, who was previously the marketing manager for Ferrari and Maserati Denmark will be using his 13 years of brand experience to deliver strong messages to support retailers as part of its Preferred Partner strategy and ensure these messages reach the end consumer too.

This is especially important today, with anglers, as most other end-users, subject to many social media influences and inspirational stories.

Hans Maasbøl, CEO of Svendsen Sport, explained: “Bringing a character like him to Svendsen Sport, is a vital point in our future brand strategy, where consumers have the power to choose but, with the right strategy, we have the power to inspire. With his background, I am convinced that he, together with the marketing team, he will be playing a vital part in our journey.”

Thomas Sanotra, director of product and marketing, added: “The story behind products and a brand is more important to us than ever. Equally important, is it to understand the anglers. Theis is a very keen angler. He has been fishing most of his life and understand the passion that drives the anglers.”

As international brand manager, Theis will be responsible for growing the knowledge about the firm’s brands within predator, carp and catfish sectors. Nowhere is this more important that in Svendsen‘s social media strategy, where it currently enjoys a very strong position but wants to increase its impact by creating better content and putting more focus on its pro staff team across the main brands.

He will also help international trade marketing manager Ken Bloch-Frederiksen, who has been with Svendsen Sport for several years. Together with his graphical department, he will increase the company’s focus on artwork, heighten its texts and increase its focus on in-store materials so retailers will get closer to end consumers on a higher level, adding another strong reason for to become a Preferred Partner with Svendsen Sport.
