Weihai Julia puts new technology on show
Weihai Julia, the well-known leading Chinese but European-owned OEM rod and pole manufacturer, is set to world premiere a range of new carbon fibre production technologies at the CGC Expo 2024 in Weihai, from October 12th to 14th.
Litegraph
Among the latest innovations the Weihai-based company, a specialist in match, feeder and carp fishing tackle will reveal at the event is Litegraph, a resign additive coating which is added to pre-preg and is based on graphene material. This will add extra strength and stiffness to standard carbon.
At the CGC Expo, Weihai Julia will present comparison standard rod samples and Litegraph additive rod samples, showing the differences in strength and rod bending.
Litegraph promises to add virtually no weight and deliver a flexible strength increase, ranging from 15% to 35%.
It took three years of development phases to achieve the perfect blend of resign and additives for a substantial advantage.
On show, Weihai Julia will have ‘crash testing’ machines to explain the concept further.
Spineless blank
Thanks to investment made in R&D and machinery Weihai Julia is now able to build custom made rods using carbon tapes with two preg-based materials, delivering completely spine-free blanks.
Endless graphics
Weihai Julia has also developed a new printing technique incorporating the advantages of screen print, laminated graphics and water transfer stickers into a single technology.
On show, it will present products with graphics built in raised chrome and rubber printing. This will have the substantial advantage of giving total design freedom to graphic designers without any limitations on printing size, interruption of lines or colours used.

Customers can come directly to the Weihai Julia booth – E4 4119 – throughout the show and are also invited to visit the factory during show days, although access to some factory areas will, naturally, be closed to visitors to safeguard technologies.
Weihai Julia’s Alberto Solza said: “On show we’ll have what we believe is possibly the best of the best match poles, carp rods, feeder rods and lure rods in terms of weight, strength and design.”
