Sustainable tackle on show for first time in Scandinavia

Innovative Swiss start-up Capt’n Greenfin, known for its ecofriendly, biodegradable fishing lures, is celebrating its Scandinavian premiere at Sportfiskemässan 2025 in Stockholm.

The company will present its sustainable products to the Scandinavian market for the first time, from March 14th to 16th.

Sustainability in fishing is gaining importance worldwide and Capt’n Greenfin says it is setting new standards in this field, with its biodegradable soft baits, made from an innovative protein blend, which are plastic-free while offering maximum attraction for predatory fish. The product range is complemented by lead-free jig heads in innovative shapes, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional lead weights. All products are manufactured in Europe.

With a quarter-million Swiss-franc research fund, the start-up is constantly researching and pioneering for improved soft- and hard bait alternatives.

Nico Hauschke, general manager for Germany and the EU at Cap’'n Greenfin, said: “Scandinavia is one of the most important fishing regions in the world, with a strong connection to nature and sustainability. We are excited to introduce our mission and products to a new audience at Sportfiskemässan 2025.”

Capt’n Greenfin’s innovative products have already gained significant attention in the German-speaking fishing community. The company has been featured in leading magazines such as Blinker, Fisch & Fang, and Der Raubfisch.

Additionally, the team around founder Jonas Urwyler presented its sustainable lures on the popular TV show “Die Höhle der

Löwen”, proving that sustainability and performance in fishing can go hand in hand.

Visitors to Sportfiskemässan 2025 will have the opportunity to experience Capt’n Greenfin’s products firsthand, engage with the team, and discover exclusive trade show offers.

Moreover, the team of Capt’n Greenfin is looking for a selected number of Scandinavian retailers and distributors to represent and grow the brand in the Nordics.
