Canadian fly tying material manufacturer UNI Products is celebrating after one of its products was selected as a top pick in an annual round up of the best gear.

Its UNI-Soft Wire Extra Small made it into the list of Best Fly Gear in Outdoor Canada magazine’s Special Fishing 2026 issue.

The magazine praised the Quebec-based firm for its range of wire offerings, picking out its recently introduced extra-small gauge UNI-Soft for special mention.

The wire, which measures just 0.006in in diameter, is available in black, olive, silver, gold and yellow and is ideal for creating tags and ribs on small flies with delicate bodies.

UNI Products’ Martin Lepine said: “We are very happy and proud. A big thank you to the fly tiers for their trust and the continuous support and to the Outdoor Canada team for this honour.”
