Scandinavian tackle company Fairpoint Outdoors A/S, home of the Westin and Kinetic brands, has strengthened its UK presence with the appointment of well-known industry figure Richard Taylor.

Richard, who has a wealth of experience in the tackle trade through his time with companies including Hardy and Greys, Leeda and, latterly, Svendsen Sport, has taken on the role of country manager for England, Scotland and Wales.

With an exceptional track record in the European trade, Richard will be working alongside Gareth Whittington and Thom Hunt as part of Fairpoint Outdoors’ strong commitment to the UK and Éire.

Westin CSO Thomas Eldor Petersen said: “Signing Richard is a huge scoop for Fairpoint Outdoors and he further strengthens our talented team in the UK and Éire.

“We have known Richard for more than 15 years and have been impressed by his knowledge, integrity and work ethos. We see great potential for growth in the UK and Richard will be a key part of the team helping us to deliver this over the years ahead.”

Richard will not only be responsible for sales but will also be working closely with the product development and marketing departments to better serve UK anglers.

Richard added: “Having recently visited Fairpoint Outdoors’ head office in Denmark and met the fantastic people there, I am extremely excited to be joining such an innovative and dedicated team.

“I share the company’s vision to continue to bring high-quality products to market, backed up by great marketing, and see a huge opportunity for growth in the UK.

“Interest in lure fishing has grown massively in popularity in recent years and Westin has been one of the brands at the vanguard of that exponential growth.”
