EFTTA boosts southern Europe expertise with appointments

During the course of the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA)’s 2026 Annual General Assembly, the umbrella trade organisation unveiled two additional board members to strengthen its southern European expertise.

Calico S.A. from Spain, represented by Jordi Hernández Aynes, and Plastools S.r.l. from Italy, represented by Moira Dal Pozzo. Both will serve terms until 2029.

Jordi brings decades of experience in the tackle industry and has been actively involved in EFTTA since its early years, contributing extensive knowledge of the European market and the challenges facing the sector.

Born in Barcelona, Jordi grew up in a family that was closely involved in Calico and has dedicated much of his professional career to the fishing tackle industry. Educated in engineering and foreign languages, he has developed extensive experience in international business and trade representation.

Calico participated in the creation of EFTTA in the late 1970s, and Jordi was among the members of the association’s first board in 1981.

He also played an active role in the creation of ADAP, the Spanish Association of Recreational Fishing Tackle Distributors, which later became part of AFYDAD.

As CEO of Calico and several other companies within the group, Jordi brings valuable industry knowledge, extensive managerial experience and a strong southern European perspective to the board.

Moira Dal Pozzo, owner and managing director of Plastools, contributes more than 30 years of manufacturing expertise combined with hands-on angling experience, offering valuable insights into innovation, production and the needs of today’s anglers.

Plastools is a second-generation family owned Italian manufacturer and OEM supplier serving the European and international fishing tackle industry.

Moira brings extensive industry knowledge with a strong commitment to product innovation, quality, sustainability and customer-focused development. Under her leadership, Plastools has become a trusted partner for many leading tackle brands across Europe and beyond.

A passionate angler herself, Moira combines entrepreneurial leadership with practical fishing experience, allowing her to translate anglers’ needs into innovative products and solutions.

She is strongly committed to supporting the growth and competitiveness of the European tackle industry through innovation, collaboration and responsible manufacturing practices.

An EFTTA spokesman said: “Together, their appointment strengthens EFTTA’s representation in southern Europe and contributes to a broader and more balanced geographical composition of the Board.

“EFTTA aims to further broaden the board in the near future with representatives from Eastern and Northern Europe.

“EFTTA warmly welcomes Jordi and Moira and looks forward to working with its renewed board and members to continue supporting and promoting the European fishing tackle sector.”
