Fitzgerald Fishing’s Bryan Thrift Signature Series Drop-Shot/ Ned Rig Rod was voted on by the 2021 ICAST attendees as the “Best New MicroWave Rod” debuted at the show.

The contest consisted of entries from all the Wave Army brands that attended the show and debuted a rod or rod series featuring the award-winning MicroWave Guides.

The Wave Army is comprised of brands in the fishing industry that utilise the successful American Tackle MicroWave Guides on a rod or series of rods.

Thrift, who competes on the MLF Bass Pro Tour, designed two finesse spinning rods to compliment his current signature series with Fitzgerald Fishing.

He is one of the most accomplished anglers ever to compete in bass tournaments, accomplishing 2 Angler of the Year titles on the FLW Tour and was the 2019 Forrest Wood Cup Champion.

The rod entered into the contest was a 7ft medium action rod featuring the MicroWave 20 Guide set.

Bryan designed this rod to have a fast action to help anglers fight fish better using light line applications and added length to increase casting distance.

The rod also features a unique two hook keeper design to help anglers decrease drop shot line tangles and coming ‘undone’ during long, hard runs on the deck of a boat.

This added feature allows anglers to attach both the hook and weight to the rod. Bryan used this rod specifically at Stage 5 of the 2021 MLF Bass Pro Tour on Lake Champlain throwing a dropshot.
