Fairpoint Outdoors, the owner of Scandinavian tackle brands Westin and Kinetic, has made another strong move to bolster growth in the UK with the signing of southern sales manager Geoff Brooks.

Geoff has been involved in the tackle industry for over 20 years, having extensive experience in both retail and trade sales roles, and joins the existing sales team of Richard Taylor in England, Scotland and Wales and Gareth Whittington in Ireland.

This move supports Fairpoint’s ongoing aggressive expansion strategy, with recruitment of key employees being at the heart of their investment plan.

Richard Taylor said: “Geoff is a brilliant addition to the company and his experience and connections should allow him to hit the ground running which is exactly what we are looking for.

“We have seen superb growth in the UK since launching our new bespoke UK business system in 2022/23 and Geoff is a key part of our projected growth plans.”

In addition to the well-known Westin brand, Geoff is looking forward to develop business of the sister brand – Kinetic - in the coming months.

He explained: “I’m incredibly excited to become part of such a forward-thinking company, and can see huge potential for Kinetic, especially in coastal stores in my territory. It is a no-nonsense brand, with superb margin for the retailer but backed by Scandinavian quality.”

Thomas Petersen, Fairpoint CSO, added: “We identified the UK and Ireland as a key area for our growth strategy going forward but it’s fair to say Brexit made for tricky times the last few years.

“However, we have invested heavily in bespoke systems to get over these hurdles and our most recent acquisition in Geoff Brooks is testament to the progress we have made.

“Coupled with our expansion of new product categories like reels, braid and a new terminal tackle range, the company is going from strength to strength and these are really exciting times.”

While many brands seem nervous in the current financial climate, Fairpoint Outdoors says it is striding forward confidently and creating impressive results despite the uncertain times.
